Danielle le Roux grew up on a farm in the Overberg. After matric, she studied agriculture at the University of Stellenbosch and fell in love with wine when she experienced the Cape winelands and the mystery of wine. In 2000 she graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Agriculture- Viticulture & oenology.

Then 2 gap years followed - working on and off in London as a wineguide at Vinopolis Wine Museum near London Bridge and also doing harvests at Chateau de la Colline (Bergerac, France); Verite (Sonoma, California) and Terreno (Tuscany, Italy).

Back in SA, she obtained some experience as winemaker at Fort Simon, Sentinel and Delheim before starting her career as winemaker at Lyngrove in 2006. Lyngrove is the flagship range of Baarsma SA.

During this time she started her studies at the Cape Wine Academy and graduated as Cape Wine Master in 2009 after completing her thesis on the subject: The effect of wine on the dental health of consumers.

Currently Danielle serves on the tasting panels for Veritas, SA Young Wine Show, SA wine & Spirit board, Watter-wyn-panel (Wynland magazine) and is a qualified Pinotage judge.

When she's not making wine, she has 3 tasting groups on the side, makes a garage wine with some friends, loves travelling through Africa and also has the important task of raising her son as a wine lover. Danielle is absolutely passionate about wine, constantly in the company of a glass of wine and feels it?s a privilege to combine your beloved hobby with your job.
