Margie took up winetasting in1994, and what started as a hobby soon became a passion. In 1995 she started working in the wine industry and did the sales and marketing for various farms in Gauteng until 2003.
She qualified as a Cape Wine Master in 2004 and her dissertation was on Supermarkets and the retailing of wine.
Margie currently lives in Greenside, Johannesburg with her husband Paul and is full-time mom to her two children Emma and Ryan.
She works part-time for the Cape Wine Academy in developing course material for Diploma and various other projects.
In her free time she assists in setting up and stocking cellars.
She belongs to various tasting groups and her hobbies include birding, hiking, mosaic and organic gardening.
