Dr Winifred Bowman resides in Camps Bay, Cape Town with her husband and son.
She is a qualified physiotherapist, biomedical scientist and obtained a PhD in Education (Didactics). Winifred is an industry consultant and lecturer at Stellenbosch University in Occupational Health (Ergonomics) and Quality Improvement Management.

She developed an interest in wine from her student days at Stellenbosch and later through frequent travels to international winegrowing areas. These hobbies of travel and wine lead to the start of her wine studies at the Cape Wine Academy in 2002 with the introduction course, culminating in the CWM qualification with the thesis title of: “An Accreditation Programme for a South African Wine Education Institute”.

She is a member of the Wine-of-the-Month selection panel and presents regular corporate and private wine tastings.
Special areas of wine interest: Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Shiraz and Brandy.
