| We held an informal tasting at the Restaurant Christophe in Stellenbosch on Saturday evening before the formal dinner. The tasting was conducted by Duimpie Bayly CWM and Bennie Howard CWM, and comprised a blind tasting of international wines ranging in vintage from 1982 to 1966. The surprise of the evening was the condition of the South African cult wine, GS Cabernet Sauvignon 1966. It was significant to see how many of our members were required to stand in honour of wines that had greater age! |
